Mara Teresa was born in Mexico City in 1943. Esmeralda study the painting, tending a teacher Francisco Zuiga, Leopoldo Mendez, Juan Soriano and Chucho Reyes. in 1958 entered the School of Graphic Arts, becoming master engraver in 1962.
